Pumpkin Cake with Caramel-Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
  • 1 ½ sticks (6 ounces) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 pound cream cheese, cut into 2-inch cubes
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
