  • 12 roasted chestnuts from jar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups red onions
  • 1 cup tawny Port
  • 2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup pitted prunes (dried plums)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
