Ingredients

  • 1 ice cream maker
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ¼ pounds firm-ripe apricots
  • 1/3 cup dried apricots
  • ½ cup water
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract

Preheat oven to 350°F. Bring sugar, water, and dried apricots to a boil in a 3-quart heavy saucepan over moderate heat, stirring, until sugar is dissolved.
