Roasted Mushroom and Barley Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 Turkish or ½ California bay leaf

  • ½ lb portabella mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

    • 3 tablespoons pearl barley
