  • ¾ teaspoon pure almond extract
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 4 medium peaches
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 19 teaspoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter

Preheat oven to 425°F with rack in middle. Drizzle 2 tablespoons butter over bottom of a 9-inch baking dish or pie plate and arrange peach halves cut sides up.
