  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 (12-oz.) glass canning jars
  • 10 drops red food coloring*
  • 4 ½ cups sugar
  • 4 (7-inch) pieces clean kitchen string
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon oil*
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • 4 wooden skewers or pencils

1. Arrange jars in bottom of a large Dutch oven, and fill with enough water to cover jars by 1 inch. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; boil 2 minutes (this is to sterilize).
