Sautéed Steaks with Red Wine and Peppers

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup red wine
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 4 top chuck steaks (about 2 pounds in all), pounded to 1/2-inch thick
  • ¾ teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • 1 large onion, sliced thin
    • 1 ½ teaspoons dried oregano
    • 1 green bell pepper, sliced thin

1. Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a medium frying pan over moderately low heat. Stir in the onion, oregano, garlic, and bell peppers.
