Scallops with Caper and Brown Butter Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound sea scallops

Pat scallops dry, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large, heavy skillet over high heat. Add scallops, and sear about 2 minutes on each side.
