SCOTTISH SOUP

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon(s) butter
  • 1 can(s) tomatoes (large can)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ pound(s) American cheese
  • 2 chopped onions (medium)

Chop onions and boil until tender in small amount of water. Mash tomatoes with juice and add to onions and water; mix. Bring to low simmer and add American cheese until it breaks into small particles throughout. Leftovers will thicken in refrigerator and are fabulous eaten warm over buttered toast.
