Soy-Braised Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled
- 8 thin slices (quarter size) fresh ginger
- 2 ounces dried whole shiitake mushrooms (2 to 3 in. wide)
- 1 teaspoon Asian sesame oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- Thinly sliced green onions
- ¼ cup dry sherry

1. Rinse mushrooms well and place in a 1 1/2- to 2-quart pan. Cover with hot water and let stand until soft, 15 to 20 minutes. Lift mushrooms out and trim off and discard tough stems.
