  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 10 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Asian (toasted) sesame oil
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (preferably black)

    • 2 pounds large sea scallops
    • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
    • 2/3 cup soy sauce

Whisk together soy sauce, lemon and lime juices, sugar, ginger, and sesame oil in a wide shallow nonreactive bowl.
