Soy-Marinated Fish

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • ¼ cup green onions
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons fresh ginger
  • 1 whole star anise
  • + 6 more ingredients
    • 1 ½ pounds 3/4-inch-thick hake or pollack fillets
    • 3 tablespoons Shaoxing wine (Chinese rice wine) or dry Sherry
    • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine (Chinese rice wine) or dry Sherry
    • ½ cup green onions
    • 2 tablespoons Asian sesame oil
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Rinse fish and pat dry. Mix green onions, ginger, 1 tablespoon rice wine, 1 tablespoon oil, and soy sauce in 11x7x2-inch glass baking dish. Add fish and turn to coat.
