Spanish Brown Rice With Spicy Sausage

Ingredients

  • ½ cupyellow onion, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 mediumred bell pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped
  • 1 (16 ounce) cancrushed tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoonsWorcestershire sauce
  • ¾ cupbrown rice, short grain
  • 1 lbpork sausage, Santa Fe-style (or any other fully cooked spicy sausage)
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • 1 ½ cupswater
    • 2 teaspoonschili powder
    • 1 tablespoonjalapeno, chopped (canned or fresh)

1 Combine all the ingredients in the slow cooker and stir to evenly distribute. Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours, serve hot. This dish will remain warm in a turned-off slow cooker for up to 30 minutes.
