SPICY LAMB SAUSAGE AND WALNUTS IN PHYLLO PASTRY TRIANGLES

Ingredients

  • 1 T olive oil
  • ¼ c onion, diced
  • ¼ c fennel, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1-½ lb lamb sausage
  • 1 t paprika
  • ½ t cardamom, ground
  • + 11 more ingredients
    • ½ t cinnamon, ground
    • ½ t coriander, ground
    • ¼ t cumin, ground
    • coarse salt as needed
    • Black pepper, freshly ground as needed
    • ½ c California walnuts, toasted
    • 2 T Chives, fresh, chopped
    • 1 egg
    • 2 T water
    • 12 sheet Phyllo dough, commercially prepared
    • ½ c Unsalted butter, melted

1. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Add onion, fennel and garlic and saut about 4 minutes, until softened. Add sausage and cook, breaking up sausage with a spatula, for 5 minutes.
