Steamed Suet Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup(s) raisins
  • 3 cup(s) flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon(s) cloves
  • 1 cup(s) molasses
  • ½ teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • + 3 more ingredients
    • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
    • 1 cup(s) Suet, ground OR ½ cup shortening
    • 1 cup(s) sour milk

Mix raisins with 1/2 C. of the flour. Sift remaining flour with dry ingredients. Combine suet, milk and molasses and add to dry ingredients. Add raisins and mix thoroughly. Fill greased shortening can or pudding mold 2/3 full, cover tightly, and steam 3 hours.
