Ingredients

  • 2 pounds tomatoes
  • 3 teaspoons dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 well-seasoned ridged grill pan
  • 3 large garlic cloves
  • 2 Turkish bay leaves or 1 California
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
