  • 2 Turkish bay leaves or 1 California

    • 3 large garlic cloves
    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
    • 3 teaspoons dark brown sugar
    • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
    • 2 pounds tomatoes
    • 1 celery rib
