Strawberry Buttermilk Cake

Ingredients

• 1 ½ c strawberries (use the smallest strawberries you can find in this cake, or cut larger ones in half.)
• 1 ½ c flour
• ¾ t baking powder
• ¾ t baking soda
• ¾ t salt
• 6 T butter, softened
• ½ c white sugar
• + 4 more ingredients
• • ½ c turbinado sugar
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ c buttermilk

Preheat oven to 400F. Beat butter and sugars together until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. At low speed, add baking soda, powder, salt and flour, alternating with buttermilk, until just blended. Spoon batter into greased and floured 9-inch cake or springform pan. ...
