Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 4" white craft sticks
  • Colored sugars, sparkling sugars, and multicolored jimmies
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs

    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ cup shortening
    • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt

Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy; add sugars, beating well. Add eggs, oil, and vanilla, beating until blended.
