Sugar Cookies ("Tea Cakes")

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 large egg
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 16 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 ½ cups self-rising White Lily or cake flour
Preheat oven to 350°F. Put flour in a bowl and make a well in center. Beat together butter and sugar in another bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, then beat in egg and vanilla until blended.
