Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried kuro mamé
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 ½ cups cold water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups water

Rinse the dried beans. In a deep bowl, mix the 3 cups water and baking soda, stirring to dissolve the baking soda.
