Swiss Steak 45

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup(s) all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon(s) pepper
  • 2 ½ pound(s) round steak, trimmed and cut into serving size pieces
  • 2 tablespoon(s) cooking oil
  • 1 cup(s) celery
  • 1 cup(s) chopped onion
  • + 4 more ingredients
    • ½ pound(s) fresh mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 cup(s) water
    • 1 clove(s) garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon(s) steak sauce

Combine flour, salt and pepper. Dredge meat in flour mixture. In a skillet, brown steak in oil. Drain and place in a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Top with celery, onion and mushrooms. Combine water, garlic and steak sauce. Pour over meat. Cover and bake at 350° for 1-1/2 hours. Yield: 6 servings.
