Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • Meatballs:
  • Sauce:
  • 1 ½ pounds ground round or lamb
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • + 15 more ingredients
    • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
    • Fresh cilantro sprigs (optional)
    • ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
    • 2 cups finely chopped onion
    • 3 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • Cooking spray
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 4 cups chopped tomato (about 1 1/2 pounds)
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 3 cups chopped onion

Preheat oven to 400°. To prepare meatballs, combine first 9 ingredients in a medium bowl. Shape mixture into (1-inch) meatballs; place on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray.
