The Best Barbecue Sauce Period

Ingredients

  • 2 (29 ounce) cans unseasoned tomato sauce
  • 1 cup unpasteurized unfiltered cider vinegar
  • ½ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ½ cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
  • + 5 more ingredients
    • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
    • 2 teaspoons onion powder
    • 2 teaspoons paprika
    • 2 teaspoons chili powder
    • ½ teaspoon mustard powder

1 Mix everything but the salt in a non-reactive pan and heat on medium low until reduced to desired thickness, anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. 2 Taste and add salt if needed.
