Tomato Onion Chutney

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon red-wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 3 ½ tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 14-ounce can tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley leaves

    • 2 ½ cups onion

In a heavy skillet cook the onion and the mustard seeds in the butter over moderate heat until the onion begins to turn golden.
