  • 1 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
  • 1 teaspoon plus ¼ cup sugar, divided
  • 2 cups warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
  • ½ cup shortening
  • 5 teaspoons salt
  • 10 cups all-purpose flour
