Vanilla Bean Pound Cake

  • 1 vanilla bean (6-7 inches)
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2 1/3 cups sifted cake flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, slightly firm
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature, cut into 1-inch pieces
