Vanilla-Jasmine-Sour Cream Tea Cake

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons vanilla-jasmine loose tea leaves*
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • + 9 more ingredients
    • Garnishes: sweetened whipped cream, mint sprig
    • ¼ cup chopped pecans
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 1 teaspoon salt

Stir together first 6 ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.

Beat butter and granulated sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add sour cream, beating until well blended.
