Ingredients

  • 1/8 tsp. table salt
  • ½ tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 2 Tbs. cornstarch

Warm the milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until tiny bubbles appear. Meanwhile, in a medium heatproof bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until pale yellow.
