White Chocolate Layer Cake with Apricot Filling and White Chocolate Buttercream

- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 ½ pounds apricots
- ½ cup water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 30 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 ¼ pounds imported white chocolate

- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups whole milk
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
