Whole Wheat Apple Scones

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (about 5 ounces)
  • 1 cup shredded peeled Granny Smith apple (about 1/2 pound)
  • ¼ cup chilled butter, cut into small pieces
