  • 1 leek, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced (about 1 cup)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 whole black peppercorns
  • 1 whole star anise
  • 1 (1 1/2-inch) cinnamon stick
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons whole fennel seeds
  • 2 whole cloves
  • + 1 more ingredients
    • 4 (6-ounce) skinless salmon fillets

Preheat oven to 425°. Combine first 5 ingredients in a small skillet over medium heat; cook for 1 minute or until fragrant.
