  • ½ pound fresh asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ pound unpeeled medium-size fresh shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • ½ teaspoon pepper
    • 6 ½ cups water

Peel shrimp, and devein, if desired. Set aside. Bring 6 1/2 cups water and 1/2 teaspoon salt to a boil in a 3 1/2-quart saucepan. Add asparagus pieces, and cook 4 minutes.
