Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon salt, divided
  • 1 cup uncooked quick-cooking grits
  • 3 cups 1% low-fat milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground or crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ cup green onion strips
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, divided
