Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups refrigerated shredded Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 ¼ cups Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs, divided
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 4 large mirlitons
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • + 7 more ingredients
    • 1 cup chopped celery
    • 1 pound unpeeled, medium-size fresh shrimp
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • Garnish: fresh chives
    • 1 tablespoon dry white wine
    • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
    • 1 cup chopped red bell pepper

Bring mirlitons and water to cover to a boil in a large saucepan; boil 20 minutes or until tender. Drain and cool. Cut in half lengthwise; remove and discard seeds.
