Turkey Recipes
Turkey, like chicken, is a neutral canvas in culinary terms, though with turkey there is a more discernible difference between the bird’s white and dark meat. Having said that, when it comes to food and wine pairings, there is no main dish more easily influenced than turkey. The generally mild flavors of the meat are influenced both by style of cooking and the seasoning used.
Consider the classic roasted turkey dinner. Usually, the stuffing you serve alongside your bird will be more intensely flavored than the bird itself. Because of this, wine recommendations for turkey run the gamut from Chardonnay, which is a classic pairing, to light reds that can be aggressive for turkey on its own but make for the best match when paired with something like a sausage stuffing. Try to match the intensity of flavor of your wine with the turkey, but take into account the entire range of flavors you’ll be serving alongside your bird.

A roasted turkey typically refers to a whole bird or breast, simply seasoned and served with additional side dishes. A baked turkey dish often refers to turkey parts that are baked with seasonings and vegetables to flavor the turkey and serve as part of the side dishes.
This might seem to be a minor diff... Read More about Baked Turkey pairings »Related Articles
