Italian Meat and Spinach Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9-inch pie crust
  • ½ pound ground beef
  • ½ pound mild or hot turkey Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ¾ cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 10 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms

    • 1 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
    • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
    • 1 cup chopped, seeded plum tomatoes
    • 1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained
