Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • ¾ cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 cup low-fat buttermilk
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can no-salt-added diced tomatoes, undrained
  • Filling:

    • 1 tablespoon chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • Topping:
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • Cooking spray
    • 4 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1 cup chopped onion
    • 1 pound ground turkey breast
    • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour (about 4 1/2 ounces)
    • ¾ cup yellow cornmeal

Preheat oven to 425°. To prepare filling, heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray.
