Spaghetti with Smoked Turkey and Leeks

Ingredients

  • ½ pound smoked turkey, sliced about 1/8-inch thick and cut into 1/4-by-1 1/2-inch strips
  • ¼ teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ pound spaghetti
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large leeks, white and light-green parts only, split lengthwise, cut crosswise into thin slices, and washed well, or 12 scallions including green tops, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • + 2 more ingredients
    • ½ cup canned low-sodium chicken broth or homemade stock
    • 1 tablespoon butter
