  • 6 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • 1 medium bay leaf
  • 1 medium yellow onion, quartered
  • 1 large carrot, coarsely chopped
  • 2 medium stalks celery, coarsely chopped
